X-Men film series featuring Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman)
The X-Men are a group of mutant human beings that are struggling to live among regular human beings. Often at odds, Professor X and Magneto lead the divided groups of mutants in battle against each other and united against the human who fear them and want to destroy them.
This series of superhero movies is based on the fictional team originally appearing in Marvel Comics.
Based on the fictional superhero gang of the same name, well known and talented directors have delivered one hell of a movie series of the X-men saga. Bryan Singer directed X-men (2000) and X2 while X-men: the Last Stand (2006) was directed by Brett Ratner. After the two succeeded, several spin-off films found their way in the entertainment world including X-men origin (wolverine, 2009), The Wolverine (2009), and Logan (2017) which focused on the Wolverine character. In 2011, X-men: first class was released followed by Days of the future past in 2014, and Apocalypse followed suit in 2016. Deadpool (2016) was a spin-off film. Some of these films were met with positive reviews from critics, mixed reviews, and others, unfortunately, got negative reviews especially X-men origin. Having grossed over 4.9 billion US dollars, the movie series is rated as the eighth highest-grossing film series. Rumor has it that 2018 will have new releases of New Mutants, Dark Phoenix, and Deadpool 2.
Why is Wolverine so popular?
Actor Hugh Jackman appears in the first seven movies. He is Wolverine/James “Logan” Howlett in X-men, X2-Xmen United and The Last Stand. In Deadpool, he appears in photographic form while Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Famke Janssen, Ian McKellen, and Patrick Stewart among others appear in the original trilogy. The super cool characters present their superpowers fighting evil or misusing their gifts for the ultimate power. Some are named based on their gifts like Magneto, Cyclops, and Storm, etc. Professor X fights hard to keep the brotherhood together and help the gifted kids use their powers for good. However, he is met with great resistant. Each movie sets a different picture, but there is a smooth flow from one film to the other which is why the gross rate increases from one film to the other. Though Deadpool has the highest record in box office gathering 7.8billion US dollars so far, the others have done pretty fantastically as well. It looks like ‘Logan’ will gather 170million US dollars around the world in a weekend according to the box office preview. The movie was released on March 3, 2017; I can’t wait to watch their new release in 2018, New Mutants.

Logan film introduces Wolverine’s daughter being hunted by the Reavers which is where James A.K.A, the dad, and Professor Charles Xavier meet her. Though Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart will have their final performances in this show, they will be missed. Honestly, I wish they could continue intriguing us with these two actors who have been my favorites from the moment I watched the first film.
